Our client is a global leader within the gas industry with several operations across the globe, providing services for the production and processing of gases. They have an immediate requirement for an HSE officer to join the Brisbane team to provide HSE support during the construction of a key project.
Your new role
Reporting to the Construction Manager and HSE Manger, you will be dedicated to ensuring a healthy and safe work environment for all personnel by effectively coordinating, implementing, monitoring leading initiatives relating to HSE to achieve high levels of compliance.
Your new role is pivotal in supporting management to pursue excellent HSE and Quality Assurance performance. Through the role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, monitoring operational requirements along with coordinating risk management and safety cultures within the team.
What you'll need to succeed
The client is ideally looking for a candidate with:
- HSE qualifications/ Tertiary qualification in a relevant area.
- 5+ years HSE experience in a similar role.
- High Risk Construction Work Experience - Civil, mechanical, or mining construction, necessary.
- High Risk Construction Work Experience - Gas plant, or any chemical or petrochemical plant experience, is highly advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with task-oriented project teams.
- Strong knowledge of HSE management system audits, incident and accident reviews, documentation development, hazard identification and risk assessment.
- The ability to plan, organise and supervise in an evolving, fast-paced environment.
