Position: HSE Advisor ( Preferred Rail Construction/Civil)
Location: Badgerys Creek, NSW, Australia
Open to all candidates with similar experience and is based in Australia.
TECHNICAL
- Manage the preparation of various safety, quality and environmental plans associated with the project, including detailed project reports
- Coaching and mentoring Project Managers, Project Staff and Supervisors and employees on RSA project requirements whilst ensuring adherence to RSA Safety Management System (SMS);
- Participate in the upskilling and education to Managers, Supervisors and employees in terms of safety risk management, investigations and safety leadership;
- Ensure RSA Standards are applied consistently on the project;
- Monitor and review effectiveness of risk control in WHS, Quality and other accreditations;
- Provide technical expertise during management of incidents and investigations;
- Lead and/or participate in the development of internal investigation reports to ensure quality of conclusions and corrective actions;
- Lead and/or participate in internal and external audits and inspections and manage any Non-Conformances as per RSA Safety Management System.
- Manage document control activities for the business in line with business requirements;
- Consult/collaborate with site personnel and line management in the development of HSEQ and other accreditation requirements;
- Attend pre-job planning and other client meetings as required;
- Conduct and compile WHS, Quality and accreditation audits, inspections and reports.
- Other duties as directed for the purpose of discharging the duties required by the role
SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
- Actively participate in quality, safety and environmental compliance activities.
- Drive a safety-first workplace culture, which promotes and enhances the RSAFE value.
- Responsible for maintaining a high-level Risk Management and Hazard Identification within area of responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Relevant formal qualifications in WHS and/or Quality including risk management;
- Previous rail experience preferably rail construction;
- Strong initiative, ability to manage multiple work priorities and work to deadlines;
- Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively consult, liaise and negotiate with internal and external customers and to facilitate their cooperation and support to achieve desired outcomes.
- High level of computer literacy - MS Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Outlook
- Team player willing to get involved across all facets of the business;
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, Standards, Quality systems and other accreditations as required.
- Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and administration of legislation.
- Possess self-motivation and flexibility of approach, able to make decisions and adopt work practices to meet changing work requirements and situations
- Extensive understanding of integrated safety management systems, risk management, quality management and their application to railway operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Current Drivers License
