Palmers control all aspects of manufacture in-house with our own toughening plant, auto-cutter, water-jet cutter and a variety of polishing, bevelling and general processing machines.
We are looking for a motivated Carpenter to join our team. Previous experience in the glass trade is preferred.
Experience Required: AQF Certificate III and 2 years’ experience or 3 years may substitute for formal qualification
Job Tasks and Duties:
- Site safety, plant, and power tool safety;
- Study specifications in blueprint, sketches site conditions to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required;
- Manual lifting & handling;
- Measure, cut, nail and shape materials such as wood, drywall, or fiberglass
- Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue;
- In charge of all framework to be installed on site in preparation before glass installation, this includes steel, aluminium & timber frame work;
- Prefabricating framework in workshop, cutting glass;
- Installation of glass, silicone, and finished trim work;
- Transportation of glass, materials & tools to site;
A team player with good communication skills is essential.
Right to work in Australia is essential.
