About the role
As a Bricklaying Foreman at Brick Block Stone in Sydney, NSW, you will play a critical role in leading and overseeing a team of skilled bricklayers and labourers to deliver high-quality construction projects. This full-time position or contractor position offers the opportunity to work with a reputable company in the building trades industry, utilising your expertise in bricklaying and supervisory skills.
What you'll be doing
- Coordinate and supervise a team of bricklayers and labourers to ensure efficient and effective completion of construction projects
- Monitor work progress, quality, and safety compliance to meet project requirements and deadlines
- Liaise with builders, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
- Provide hands-on guidance and training to bricklayers, labourers and apprentices to develop their skills and expertise
- Manage and optimise the use of materials, equipment, and resources to maximise productivity
- Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process
- Maintain detailed records, reports, and documentation related to project progress and team performance
What we're looking for
- Extensive experience as a qualified bricklayer, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a bricklayer
- Proven track record in leading and managing a team of bricklayers and labourers, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong understanding of bricklaying techniques, construction methods, and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
- Proficient in the use of bricklaying tools, equipment, and materials
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure efficient project delivery
