About you:
· Read plans and sketches to grasp the project design and specifications
· Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials to fit specified dimensions and quality standards
· Build, install, and repair wooden frameworks and structures
· Fix and install gyprock sheets on walls and ceilings, ensuring they are levelled and aligned
· Apply cladding materials such as timber, metal, or vinyl to the exterior of buildings
· Carry out first fix carpentry tasks such as erecting roof trusses, wall frames, floor joists, and subfloors
· Carry out second fix carpentry tasks such as installing architraves, skirting boards, door frames, doors, locks, and hardware
· Inspect and maintain carpentry work and equipment for safety and functionality
· Coordinate with other tradespeople to complete the project on time and within budget
Experience & attributes:
· Full carpenter qualifications or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential construction
· Current Construction Induction Card (White Card)
· Driver’s licence and clean record
· Proficiency with the safe operation of different types of tools and machines
· Mathematical skills to measure, cut, shape, and calculate materials and costs
· Keen problem-solving skills
· Good critical thinking skills to anticipate potential issues
· Effective interpersonal skills and neat personal presentation

Pay: $45.00 – $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 55 per week
