Califam Constructions is a civil construction contractor based in Campbellfield. Our pivotal area of expertise is construction of new sewerage reticulation and trunk outfall works, operating for over 40 years in the Greater Melbourne region.
We are currently looking for a full time HSEQ Coordinator to join the team.
Position is full-time Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm.
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager your main duties will be:
- Internal auditing of sites for EHS and QA compliance across projects, workshop and office.
- Completing new employee and subcontractor inductions.
- Raising internal observations / non-conformances as a result of monitoring, auditing and after incidents or near misses.
- External audit observations / non-conformance response and action.
- Ensuring effective implementation of business improvement / corrective actions following defects, suggestions and incidents.
- Coordinating all calibration, inspections and testing required for inspection and test equipment and maintaining the register and records.
- Maintaining staff training records and co-ordination of internal and external training.
- Maintaining SDS register and distribution.
- Completing routine in-house inspections on harnesses and other safety equipment as necessary.
- Coordinating the HSE Working Group meetings and preparing minutes.
- Preparing and distributing safety notices and bulletins.
- Supporting toolbox and consultation meetings and providing feedback.
- Risk assessments and SWMS development.
- Assisting with preparing and updating company and project policies, procedures and instructions.
- Leading and driving safety, environmental and quality policies and practices throughout the company and its operations.
You will have:
- Tertiary qualification in OHS or similar or suitable work experience.
- Full driver’s licence (the role will require you to use company vehicles to drive to various sites throughout the day).
- Knowledge or experience in OHS requirements for high risk construction.
- Experience within the civil construction industry desirable.
- Experience in training, coaching and mentoring (preferably in EHS).
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships.
- Ability to coordinate and drive multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Consultative approach and client solution focused.
- Ability to solve problems and provide advice.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
