Our Wastewater and Water Treatment Plant Operators play an essential role in getting us there, by working across Gladstones variety of sites, you’ll help provide valuable waste management solutions to our clients and customers. As a Waste Water Operator you will be a fundamental part of the business.
What’s the Role?
This role and its duties include the daily operation and maintenance of the waste water treatment plants across several sites within Gladstone. Make and take responsibility for plant operational decisions. Following established procedures to treat the wastewater to achieve compliant release. The successful applicant will be required to take field samples of the waste water. Work includes the operation of pumps, valves, and a basic PLC.
Who you are
- It is essential you have a Certificate III in Waste Water Operations
- A strong focus on OH&S
- Well-rounded communication skills are essential due to the range of internal and possibly external stakeholder engagement.
- Proven competencies operating WWTP are highly desirable.
- Current drivers’ license
- Excellent communication skills and enjoys building working relationships both internally and externally.
- Problem Solver
- Capable of working alone or within a team
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plant and its associated equipment
- The performance of general scheduled and unscheduled minor maintenance tasks,
- Cleaning
- Compliance checks and the completion of system performance reporting is part of this role.
- There is a level of physicality required to complete this role.
