Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Quantity Surveyor who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.
About the Position:
With record-breaking investment in rail infrastructure and networks to support more livable and sustainable cities and communities across Australia, we’re expanding our team to meet the demands of our growing project portfolio.
Based in Brisbane, you will be part of dynamic, innovative, and collaborative team renowned for its world-class thinking and solutions.
Key responsibilities:
Support the Construction Manager to ensure that work progress is managed with both subcontractors and the client.
Ensure that work progress certificates issued by the subcontractors are checked by the appropriate site supervisor/manager and that they are compliant with the subcontractor invoicing and subcontract requirements.
Ensure that the construction work progress is monitored and reported according to the contract to support client invoicing.
Provide an interface with the Control and Finance Function to process the invoices approved by the Project Manager
Assist the Construction Manager with tracking of internal and external budgets
Track scope changes both internal and external
Collate the work package.
Produce Work Instructions with support from the supervisors.
Produce and manage the Work method statements with support from the supervisors.
Track and identify changes to scope of work.
Track and report delays to programme.
Produce red line mark up for civil works.
Monitor all registers and checklists identified in the work packages.
Skills & Experience:
Diploma with specialisation in surveying and/or Engineering University degree desirable
Minimum 2 years of expertise
Quantity Surveyor must have a basic knowledge of:
Good planning and organisational skills.
Resourceful, resilient, and professional.
