Responsibilities Weatherford Malaga, Perth is seeking for a full-time permanent
REPAIR & MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN / TRADE ASSISTANT. The R&M Technician role undertakes hands-on tasks and utilizes Weatherford's facilities, equipment, machinery, and systems. The role applies techniques and practices to complete the scope of tasks covering inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. Tasks will span the entire process from receiving the tools, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing using technical manuals, procedures, and Technical work instructions.
This role will provide "hands-on" technical support to the production, and repair of equipment and/or tools. In shop environment, receives field tools, takes them apart, repairs and refurbishes tool to go back to the field. Repair and Maintenance Technician will work alongside trade's personnel, assisting in day-to-day operation, loading of jobs, inspection, cleaning and refurbishment of equipment for future use in the Oil & Gas industry. In addition to performing basic mechanical fitting/repair of oilfield equipment you will ensure a clean and tidy workshop at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES (not listed in any particular order) - Perform basic workshop duties, including: repair and maintenance of offshore related equipment in accordance with company procedures under direction from Mechanical Supervisor and within your skill set.
- Responsible for the management of the hydraulic hoses onsite and their respective register.
- Maintain good standard of housekeeping practices in workshop and yard.
- Complete all necessary documentation pertaining to equipment movements and repairs.
- Collect the relevant data, measure and check all equipment, review all QA /QC documents and third-party equipment to determine that the operation can be safely executed as per the agreed procedures.
Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - R&M Technician I: 0 - 2 years experience in Oil & Gas or Heavy Industry
- R&M Technician II: 3 - 4 years experience in Oil & Gas or Heavy Industry
- R&M Technician III: 4+ years experience in Oil &Gas or Heavy Industry
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION / EDUCATION - High School Diploma or Certificate
- Basic computer skills
- Basic Mathematics
- Working with hazardous materials, radioactive elements & explosives. Awareness of NDT, NDE and ATEX policies & principles
- For those with 0 years of experience, pre-apprenticeship, workplacement experience or traineeship in Mechanical / Electrical is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE - Secondary School Diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience working in a busy workshop in similar roles.
- Experience in LEAN practices would be beneficial.

MOBILISATION REQUIREMENTS - Based in Malaga, Perth
- 8am - 4:30pm - with potential overtime (with OT penalty rate)
