Key responsibilities Major duties and responsibilities of the Carpenter • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed • Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements • Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items • Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible • Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness of structures • Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames • Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated • Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance • Build scaffolding and other construction structures Requirements - • Certificate III in carpentry with previous experience of 1 years in a fast-paced environment. • Able to work well with team, and also independently. • Must be able to work shift work, including nights and weekends • Good organizational and communication skills • Permanent Residents or citizens of Australia will be preferred.
