Experienced Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator required by Deaken & Associates Pty Ltd in Brookton WA. The location of work is Avon Valley Olive Farm.

Main duties

· Preparing and positioning plant for operation.

· Operating tractor-drawn and self-propelled plant to plough land and sow, fertilise, cultivate and harvest crops, and avoid damaging crops.

· Adjusting speed, height and depth of implements.

· Assembling and configuring the olive harvester, including comprehensive checks of critical components such as the engine, radiator, hydraulic systems, and all other mechanical parts to ensure optimal performance.

· Operating the harvester efficiently, leveraging sensor technology and GPS guidance systems to maximise yield while minimising damage to the trees and the machine.

· Coordinating effectively with the receival chaser bin operator to ensure seamless operation and maintaining strict safety protocols to protect both personnel and equipment.

· Performing daily routine maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of all automated harvester functions, including real-time diagnostics and problem resolution to minimise downtime during critical harvest periods.

· Executing precise start-up and shut-down procedures for the automated olive harvester to maintain system integrity and ensure smooth operation.

· Conducting off-season maintenance, including the inspection and repair of bearings, seals, conveyor belts, and electrical sensor wiring, to prepare the machinery for the next harvesting season.

· Maintaining detailed records of all operational activities, maintenance tasks, and repairs performed on the harvester to ensure compliance with best practices and facilitate continuous improvement.

Selection criteria:

1. Australian Citizen or permanent resident are preferred.

2. IELTS overall score of 5.0 or PTE overall score of 36.

3. AQF Certificate II or equivalent overseas qualification.

4. Must have at least 1 year Australian work experience as Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator.

5. Must have experience operating “Colossus XL” olive harvester.

Full-time position

Salary: $75,000 p.a.
