Position: Asphalt Labor Worker
Location: Launceston and Northeast Tasmania
Type: Casual, Full-Time Hours
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage, based on experience
Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for skilled and motivated Asphalt Laborers to join our dedicated team. This role is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic, reliability, and experience in asphalt work, road construction, and maintenance. You'll contribute to a range of projects, from routine road repairs to large-scale civil jobs, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that values precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Conduct site preparations and prepare surfaces for paving
- Asphalt Laying: Spread, rake, and compact asphalt on various surfaces, including roads and driveways
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain tools and small machinery (rollers, pavers, etc.)
- Safety Compliance: Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
- Maintenance: Assist with cleaning and upkeep of tools and equipment
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to complete projects on schedule
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in asphalt labor or a similar role
- Skills: Knowledge of asphalt preparation and paving techniques
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physical tasks, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors in varying weather
- Teamwork: Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety standards and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
- License: Valid Driver's License; bonus for MR or higher license
