ABOUT CANNINGTON
Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.
Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent position on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane/Townsville or DIDO from Mount Isa to Cannington.
As the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor – Drill & Ancillary Equipment, you will oversee the underground drill department, focusing on key equipment such as Sandvik DD421 jumbos, Epiroc long hole rigs, and ancillary fleet including Volvo IT’s, Normec trucks, and a Franna crane. You’ll play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Support those managing the haulage and light vehicle (LV) fleets to ensure smooth, cohesive operations across site.
- Champion safety practices, actively engage in risk reduction and compliance with safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Build a collaborative and safety-focused work environment, engaging effectively with both team members and stakeholders.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Extensive experience with DD421 jumbos and Epiroc long hole rigs.
- Proficient with SAP for maintenance planning, scheduling, and reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
- Proactive leader who values teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
- Ability to support cross-functional teams in a fast paced environment.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Trade qualification (heavy diesel fitting preferred)
- In the absence of a formal qualification, applicants with significant experience in an Underground Mining Operation and environment will be considered.
