Description:
The High Lift Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of Star’s Ground Service Equipment (GSE), as well as a wide variety of duties, including but not limited to driving of trucks, vehicle maintenance and assisting with cabin cleaning and linen/stock deliveries.
Service Delivery
- Prepare and manoeuvre the vehicle for airside use, marshalling the truck alongside the aircraft, driving of hi-lift trucks
- Loading and unloading of stock and assisting with the delivery and transport of linen on and off the truck when attached to the aircraft
- Sorting of items allocated to the truck (for collection and/or delivery)
- Conduct regular checks on the vehicle for compliance and refuelling of vehicles
- Maintain procedures and practices which contribute to the safety of airside traffic and operations
- Deliver Cabin Cleaning services on behalf of Star Aviation customers in accordance the airline procedures under the direction of a Team Leader/s, ensuring compliance and safety regulations are met to the highest standards at all times
- Represent both the Airline and Star to the highest level ensuring customer satisfaction
- Work either alone or as part of a team
- Actively participate in undertaking duties in a safe, professional manner
- Ensure at all times you act in accordance with Star Aviation guidelines and appropriate and professional standards
- Report all incidents as per procedure/s
- Other reasonable duties as directed
Collection of Deliveries, Linen and/or Stock
- Carry out collections and deliveries of off/on airport with suppliers as directed by your Manager
- Ensure to collect deliveries in a safe and timely manner
- Reconcile and ensure deliveries collected are accurate and if there are any discrepancies, you must immediately notify your Manager.
Management of GSE
- Ensure the safe and secure operation of all equipment
- Report equipment malfunction to your Manager as per procedure
- Where qualified, operate Ground Service equipment (GSE) in accordance with correct procedures
Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
- A valid provisional or full driver license.
- A Medium Ridge Licence or Heavy Ridge Licence
- Working rights in Australia
- Full availability to work a rotating roster from 0400-2400
Desired:
- A valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), or the ability to successfully obtain one.
- A valid authority to Drive Airside Card (ADA), or the ability to successfully obtain one.
