About the Role
The Western Australian Iron Ore SEM team are a dynamic team that delivers excellence in Security and Emergency Services. We are strong believers of diversity and individuality.
Our site access team are responsible for providing site access and security & emergency response communications support to our operations.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals for Site Access Officer roles at our Newman operations (Whaleback/Eastern Ridge) With the Newman Operations role there is consideration of being residentially based in Newman. As a BHP employee, you play a meaningful role in the safe and efficient execution of site access and security activities across site.
More specifically, you will:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter values and code of conduct.
- Manage and maintain the BHP Iron Ore Access Control Systems and equipment, reporting any deficiencies.
- Conduct drug and alcohol testing in line with current BHP procedures.
- Work with Emergency Services teams to coordinate emergency response communications;
- Conduct security inspections and functions for site.
- Receive internal and external calls for emergencies and refer accordingly.
- Maintain systems to ensure site access compliance, fit for work, fatigue and alcohol/drug monitoring, security preparedness, emergency response and recovery is effective.
About You
To be successful in this Site Access Officer role, you will have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. You will also have:

- Ability to undertake a range of activities in your day
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Experience in the development and following of standard work practices; and
- Knowledge and experience maintaining confidentiality in relation to all security incidents and emergencies including incident, security and medical details
- Previous experience in a similar role will be advantageous but not essential
Location and Roster
This is a permanent position, working an 8:6/7:7 day and night shift roster, fly in fly out (FIFO) from Perth. The available positions are based at Newman Operations (Whaleback/Eastern Ridge) With the Newman Operations role there is consideration of being residentially based in Newman.
