This role will be based at a remote mine site in the Northern Territory on a 2 & 1 roster, 12-hour days.
Role Overview
PHE Mining is seeking a reliable Quantity Surveyor to join our capable team on a fixed-term contract basis. This role involves analysing existing budgets, preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with contractors and vendors, and building relationships with key personnel on-site.
Your Responsibilities
- Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
- Developing Weekly Reports and Quantity Manhour Reports.
- Conducting Project MTO vs Budget estimate analysis.
- Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts for fiscal management.
- Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documentation.
- Managing variations and change through effective change management.
- Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
- Assisting with P6 schedule progress reporting.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or a related field.
- Experience in construction estimating or cost controls or quantity surveying.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organise, plan, and strategise effectively.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying, including:
- Advanced Knowledge: Power BI, Excel
- Intermediate Knowledge: P6 Primavera
