An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced Civil Construction Maintenance Worker to join Council’s Infrastructure and Environment Department to support the delivery of Councils Civil Construction and Maintenance program and associated activities across the Council region, located 50km from Adelaide CBD.
Role
Based at the Mallala Depot and reporting to the Team Leader, Construction and Maintenance, this position will play a key role in:
Carrying out a range of tasks and activities related to the construction and maintenance of designated roads, streets, car parks, stormwater drainage systems and street verges across Council’s region
Providing the community with well-maintained roads, streets, car parks, stormwater drainage systems and street verges that support their needs now and into the future
Patrol grading
Ensuring the cost effective use of plant and equipment in the delivery of Civil Construction and Maintenance services
To Be Successful In This Role, Applicants Will Need
A sound knowledge in civil construction practices with a Certificate III in Construction, or similar
Experience in plant operation and equipment operation relevant to the role e.g. Final Trim / patrol grader operation
Knowledge and appreciation of risk management, quality management and best practice principles
Organisational skills, including time management and prioritisation of daily tasks
Excellent customer service, both internally and externally
Willingness and ability to work as an effective team member and contribute towards team goals
Must be a permanent resident of Australia
