Working within the Planning and Infrastructure department, the Approvals Officer is accountable for the effective and efficient management of the Airports Planning and Development Approvals and associated processes.
Tasks and Duties:
- Manage and coordinate airport Development and Building Approvals, including receiving, registering, and processing applications.
- Coordinate and oversee the workflow process, ensuring timely processing and tracking of applications and regulatory requirements are met.
- Assist with general inquiries regarding the status of building and development applications and provide approval-related information.
- Upload building application status reports onto the airport website as per requirements.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, the Commonwealth Airport Building Controller and applicants.
- Continuously work towards process improvement, collaborating with internal stakeholders to streamline and enhance the approval process for all users.
- Assist with the preparation and management of the process for Master Plans and Major Development Plans such as the management of consultants, coordination of publishing, coordination of consultation activities and document control.
- Establish effective internal and external working relationships and high standards of customer service.
Skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification (Certificate / Diploma / Degree) related to building industry (facilities management / construction / development).
- Sound knowledge of the Building Industry coupled with well-developed oral, written, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Significant experience in a coordination role in a regulated environment.
- Sound knowledge of office procedures and systems.
- It would be an advantage if you possessed a knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, guidelines as well as experience with Development and Building Approval processes.
