What’s on offer?
We are seeking a suitably experienced and driven Regional Safety Manager for our South Australian and Northern Territory (Central Region) Infrastructure Services business, based in Mile End reporting to General Manager – Central Region FHIS. Our operational remit encompasses an array of diverse work areas including asphalt and spray seal operations, road maintenance work, minor civil construction, asphalt production, laboratories, emulsion and speciality products.
You will provide safety leadership to a high functioning safety team, ensuring we meet compliance with legislative requirements in line with client and company health and safety standards. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coordination of deployment schedule in line with program requirements to ensure adequate coverage.
Monitoring and management of Health and safety key performance indicators and identifying and implementing strategies to further streamline systems and processes.
Liaising and reporting directly with client Health and Safety personnel to ensure requirements and expectations are exceeded.
Planning and performing Health and Safety compliance audits to identify and evaluate conformity and opportunities for improvement.
Providing leadership support across risk, compliance, incident investigation, quality control, environmental management whilst driving continuous improvement.
Driving improved performance by identifying trends, analysing statistics, preparing reports and implementing compliance initiatives, identifying and addressing risk.
Strategic leadership to develop comprehensive plan designed to manage and reduce workplace risks, protect employees, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
How you’ll connect to the role?
We are seeking a suitably experience person who has gained relevant expertise from other top or mid-tier contractors that deliver either construction or engineering maintenance projects. Your tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or related discipline, possession of Lead Auditing Qualification (preferably ICAM lead investigator) as well as your expertise in accredited safety systems and incident investigation will set you up for success. You will have the ability to lead, develop, engage, coach and foster relationships at all levels of an organisation. Your high degree of proficiency in report writing, presentations and client facing interactions will set you up well.
