Responsibilities
- Disassemble, refurbish, and reassemble mechanical components according to specifications and engineering drawings
- Conduct thorough inspections of components to identify potential faults and wear, performing necessary repairs or replacements
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop refurbishment plans and optimize procedures
- Utilize various tools and machinery to ensure precise fitting of components
- Maintain accurate records of refurbishment processes, materials used, and results
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company standards while executing tasks
- Train apprentices and junior fitters on best practices for refurbishment techniques and safety measures
- Precision in using measuring equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fitter, with a focus on refurbishment in mechanical or engineering environments
- Strong knowledge of machinery, tools, and equipment used in the fitting process
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Proficient in using various hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with different teams
- Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in an industrial setting
