About the Role
We are currently recruiting a full-time Civil Design Technician for our Hobart practice. This role will be working on a diverse range of projects, including infrastructure, built form, land development, and urban design. Projects can be located locally, intrastate and interstate, giving the successful candidate opportunities to develop their skills and career in complex and wide-ranging environment. In addition, this role will be a key part of driving innovation in our business and industry, providing opportunity for creative thinking and career development.
Key accountabilities in this role include

Being responsible for undertaking documentation of fully coordinated Civil projects in accordance with relevant design standards under limited supervision.

Responsibility for producing quality detail design documentation in AutoCAD or other software programs.

Having responsibility for project outcomes through the monitoring of scope, quality, and schedule to ensure a successful and profitable project.

Assisting in the tracking of project progress, including quality and schedule to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded on a consistent basis.

Responsibility for liaising between disciplines and project team members (both internal and external) to ensure the design documentation is consistent and coordinated
We are looking for someone with

A relevant and suitable qualification in drafting or relevant experience

2+ years of relevant real-world experience in drafting
-
Knowledge of AutoCAD
-
Knowledge of construction methods and their impact on design

An understanding of commercial risk
-
Experience in liaising with project managers, engineers and other technical specialists.

Strong communication skills
