About the Role
Join Babcock and be part of a mission-critical team that sustains the operational readiness of the Collins Class Submarines. We are seeking a skilled Quality Control Technician to work at our state-of-the-art facility in Woodville North, ensuring the highest standards of quality across all operational processes.
In this pivotal role, you will manage the quality control of both goods and documentation throughout their lifecycle. From receiving and inspecting goods to ensuring compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements, your work will be essential in maintaining seamless operations. You’ll also be responsible for generating and reviewing Material Data Reports (MDRs), raising non-conformance reports (NCRs), and supporting the Return to Vendor (RTV) process.
Your expertise will contribute to the overall quality assurance process by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of quality documentation, performing checks, and taking proactive steps to prevent quality issues before they arise. You’ll also work closely with the Quality Control Team Lead, support internal audits, and drive continuous improvement in operational quality processes.

To be successful, you will bring:
- Australian Citizenship and a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
- Quality Systems knowledge and experience within a quality environment.
- General knowledge of relevant Australian and International Standards.
- Metrology experience - Use of measuring equipment and understanding of geometric tolerance.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Computer literate and skilled in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, etc).
- Experience using ERP Systems, preferably IFS.
