About the Project:
Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunneling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description
Position Overview:
Ontario Transit Group (OTG) is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee all aspects of the structural steel components for the Ontario Line South project. The Structural Steel Project Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the structural steelwork involved in the construction of stations, tunnels, and other infrastructure. This role requires a solid understanding of structural engineering, steel fabrication, and installation, as well as experience managing large, complex civil infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement detailed plans for the structural steel components of the project, including procurement, fabrication, and installation schedules. Coordinate with main consultant, subcontractor/supplier designers, and construction teams to ensure structural steel activities are integrated with the overall project plan.
Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Manage and coordinate all activities related to structural steel subcontractors and Supplier. Ensure that steel fabrication and installation meet the project's design specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records of all structural steel-related activities, including procurement, fabrication, installation, and quality inspections. Provide regular progress reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of structural steel design, fabrication, and installation. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards for structural steelwork in construction, including AISC and CISC standards.
Software Skills: Proficiency in project management software (Excel, Microsoft Project) and (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is required.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, particularly when reviewing designs, specifications, and quality control documentation.
