What’s on offer?
With the continued growth we are looking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to join our Infrastructure Services business in NSW. This position can also be suitable for a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer looking for a change in career. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will play an important role within our estimating team. Key clients include state government, local government, and the private sector throughout the NSW Regions. Day to day you will:
- Review specifications, quality, safety, and other requirements for all tenders, as well as attending site visits to record conditions.
- Go to market with accurate RFQ’s
- Develop and refine project staging plans and methodologies in order to accurately tender projects.
- Communicate and negotiate with subcontractors regarding future projects.
- Have an in depth understanding of road construction including requirements and provide advice regarding working around live traffic and services.
- Develop an accurate scope of works, verifying work schedules and bill of quantities, and completing detailed quantity take offs.
- Ensure resource rates used are correct, coordinating and sending out subcontractor/supply pricing packages, and performing price analysis.
- Price of direct job cost items in Benchmark, Expert Estimation software and compiling tender support information.
- Program the scope of works according to the construction methodology, assessing duration and productivity, and conducting win/loss reporting.
- Participate in meetings and tender reviews, ensuring tender submissions are submitted in a suitable format at the appropriate time, assisting with the handover of successful tenders to operational staff, and providing technical advice to clients as required.
To be successful in this role you will have relevant Engineering qualifications and possess a high-level of experience in the civil construction field. Ideally, you will have extensive experience on projects within multiple disciplines and varying levels of complexity. A must is technical knowledge of civil infrastructure projects, pricing from first principles and/or delivering projects on site. A willingness to broaden your knowledge to other construction and surfacing disciplines is actively encouraged. You will have excellent communication skills with a good rapport with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers across the industry. A detailed knowledge of estimating software such as Expert or equivalent will be highly regarded.
There will be a requirement for travel in this role to attend site inspections, pretender meetings and the like. This role can based at either our Thornton, Dapto or Campbelltown locations.
