Your Role
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be able to work independently and as part of a dynamic team, to accurately produce products to the highest standards and to project specifications. You will have a minimum of 3 years in welding, boiler making or fabricating experience and your daily responsibilities will include:
- Accurately selecting materials and fittings to drawing requirements
- Accurately measure dimensions on detailed drawings
- Accurately hole members, select and tack weld fittings and hard stamp members where indicated
- Welding and checking tack welded members for compliance to shop drawings
- Achieving welding standards & correct weld size according to project specifications
- Using anti spatter medium, de-bur fittings/materials and to clean weld spatter
- Cutting and executing proper and safe use of mechanical machines and of thermal cutting tools
- Using proper and safe use of bench grinders, and angle grinders to grind, prepare weld penetrations & de-bur materials and fittings
- Competently and safely use electric overhead cranes
- Using proper selection and use of chain, wire, and fibre slings
- Assisting in safe handling of materials
- Assisting in leading completed products on transport
- Maintaining ongoing care for equipment and tools, and keep clear work areas
- Reporting defective or damaged tool or leads.
Other Details
This role is fulltime Monday - Friday, and is located in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide. The salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
About You
You will have completed formalised, structured training in relation to Structural Steel Fabrication. Have at least 3 years experience as a Structural Steel Tradesperson. You will have good mathematical skills, an eye for detail with the ability to complete weld testing to AS1554.1 SP/GP
