About the Role
This role is to design, deliver and enhance the apprentice onboarding training program within Copper SA and ensure it is delivered safely, within budget and schedule. To promote apprenticeships and engage with apprentices and key stakeholders, to enable apprentice capability and successful completion through program management and monitored journey progress and development by:
- Participating in the development and delivery of the onboarding training program for first year apprentices.
- Monitor performance of apprentices alongside infield staff.
- Coordinate and participate with different workgroups onsite to establish yearly apprentice projects to better the skills and outcomes of the program cohort.
- Work in coordination with the Apprentice Field Specialist on infield Verification of Competencies of apprentices and pastoral care visits.
- Liaising with external authorities for apprenticeships including - group training organisations, Australian Apprenticeship Support Networks, Registered training organistaions and licensing authorities.
- Working with the wider community to promote Apprenticeships at BHP in the marketplace.
- Work with industry partners to remain abreast of changes to emerging skills.
- Good problem-solving skills (strong analysis, judgment, and decision-making skills with attention to detail) along with the ability to identify and recommend improvements.
About You
- Trade certification in a relevant trade (desireable).
- Previous experience/knowledge of the SA apprenticeships system.
- Professional training, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in adult learning.
- Willingness to lead and implement change, as well as influence and mentor others in training and safety principles and behaviours.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferred within mining, processing or heavy industry preferred.
- Certificate IV OR Diploma in Training & Assessment or Diploma desirable, with relevant additional tertiary qualifications beneficial.
