The Role
As the Renewable Energy QA/QC Client Side Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful construction and implementation of wind farm projects in Australia. You will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities on behalf of the client, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role demands strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of windfarm construction processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive QA/QC inspections throughout all phases of wind farm construction to ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, document, and report any quality issues, non-conformances, or deviations from project requirements to the client and project team.
- Develop and maintain detailed QA/QC plans, checklists, and reporting systems specific to wind farm construction.
- Verify that all materials, components, and installation methods meet the required quality standards.
Client Representation:
- Act as the primary on-site representative for the client, ensuring their interests are protected throughout the construction process.
- Attend and participate in regular project meetings, providing updates on QA/QC activities and raising any concerns on behalf of the client.
- Liaise between the client, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and resolution of quality-related issues.
Construction Oversight:
- Monitor all aspects of wind turbine construction, foundation work, turbine assembly, and electrical/mechanical infrastructure installation.
- Ensure that construction activities adhere to approved plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Conduct regular site walks to identify potential issues and verify that work is progressing according to plan.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) or a related field (trade qualified).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in QA/QC roles within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on wind farm construction.
- In-depth knowledge of wind turbine technology, construction processes, and industry standards.
- Australian Electrical License is required.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management software.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to work full-time on-site and be local to the area.
- Previous experience with major Wind Turbine Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) is highly advantageous.
