Due to an expanding portfolio of awarded contracts, we have a newly created opportunity for an Assistant Estimator to join our Estimating team, based in our Balcatta Office.
Reporting to the Estimating Lead, you will primarily be responsible for assisting the Estimators by proving material take-offs and liaising with subcontractors and, ensuring subcontractors understand the scope of works and their quotes are accurate, submitted on time and within the conditions of the tender
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The ability to review and comprehend tender documentation
- Carry out detailed take offs
- Produce a Bill of Quantities to assist the estimator/subcontractors/suppliers with pricing
- Compile clear and concise scopes of works and requests for quotations
- Obtaining and vetting quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Ensure all relevant documents and addenda are collated in a timely manner and sent out in an efficient manner
- Ongoing contribution and development of National subcontractor and supplier base
- Respond and record tender clarifications with subcontractor and supplier submissions ensuring omissions and dispensations are clearly identified and balanced in evaluation and comparison sheets
ABOUT YOU
Your ability to be adaptable and proactive will see that you succeed in this role. You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar equivalent
- Actively engages in problem solving to find new ways to resolve issues
- Ability to navigate through ambiguity and see the complete picture, and deciding on realistic solutions given the available resources
- Financial and commercial acumen
- Interpersonal skills, confident, professional and self-motivated
- Attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
