About the role
We are seeking an Associate/Team Lead, Mechanical Engineer to join our friendly and supportive Sydney office.
As a Team Leader you will have the opportunity to build your team and help grow the business whilst shaping the culture of the office. You will be a part of our multi-disciplinary team working across various building projects and service projects including those of relatively large size, of high complexity and with multiple clients.
The successful candidate will be working in a strong team environment and ideally be well-connected within the NSW buildings market.
The role will enable the successful candidate to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a challenging and rewarding in career path in a successful consultancy.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Support and offer guidance to Project Engineers, Engineers and Graduate Engineers to enable them to perform successfully at all levels.
Prioritise workloads whilst ensuring our clients’ needs are met, maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with your colleague's both locally and across the international Stantec team.
Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery on time and to budget.
Identify opportunities for innovation within the mechanical engineering teams.
Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships.
Bring value to in-house design/project meetings
Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
To be successful for this role you'll need to:
Hold a Mechanical Engineer Degree or equivalent
Have 8-10 years experience, working in the consulting or engineering industry and have a good understanding of the local buildings business
Be well-connected/networked within the industry and able to foster client relationships
Have significant Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design experience on building projects.
Experience working on Data Centre or Health projects would be highly regarded
Ability to make quality business decisions
Have a successful track record in leading others
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
