The Business Development Manager (BDM) is key to driving the aggressive growth of the C.H. Robinson business in Sydney. Joining a dynamic and committed Team, the BDM has an opportunity to actively leverage on the performance credibility across the existing high profile customer base, into new business opportunities.
As the BDM, you will be responsible for identifying Customers that meet the target opportunity profile, building relationships, solutioning, proposing, negotiating and closing new business. You will have a suite of service offerings across Ocean Freight and Airfreight, Customs, Cartage, Transport, Coastal Shipping, Warehousing and Value Add Services underpinned by the global C.H. Robinson reach.
Location: Mascot, Sydney. A hybrid, flexible work arrangement applies.
Responsibilities:
Independently identify and generate new sales opportunities in line with targeted profile
Actively engage with prospective customers to build opportunity understanding and tailor solutions accordingly
Drive C-level engagement, build relationships, stakeholder engagement and influence positive customer decision making
Manage a pipeline in the CRM tool for visibility across the business to support onboarding and resource preparation
Engage internally with Commercial, Product and Operations Management to align the support required to win
Support the implementation phase with clean handover to Operations and Account Management
Maintain a high awareness of market conditions and competitors’ capability in order to differentiate the C.H.R. offering
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:
We are looking for motivated candidates who are looking to further their career in Freight Forwarding / Logistics and create value for C.H. Robinson Clients. To be successful in this role, it is expected you will have:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
At least 5 years Freight Forwarding or Logistics industry experience
A demonstrable track record of overachievement in new business sales
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a customer’s organisation including C-Level executives
Commercial acumen and an understanding of supply chain and logistics business requirements
Competitive, resilient attitude with a strong work ethic
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Strong attention to details with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
