About The Role

The HSEQ and Risk Officer (Projects) is responsible for supporting safety programmes and projects, developing training resources, and HSEQ procedures to ensure a proactive safety culture at SRS. Reporting to the HSEQ Project Advisor, the role involves working with the HSEQ team and SRS Operational Leaders to meet safety obligations. Key responsibilities include delivering HSEQ and Risk projects, maintaining training resources and procedures, and HSEQ reporting and communication. This role requires project management experience and strong interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders across SRS, DTP, and external clients and suppliers.

Job Description
Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
The Safety Officer has improved the safety culture in the region through collaboration, training, information sharing, and audits. They ensure compliance with safety legislation and guidelines, conduct risk assessments with project managers, and support assurance activities. Additionally, they compile data for reporting, communicate safety information, and promote a safe, inclusive, and flexible work environment.

Qualifications And Experience
Mandatory
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (or working towards)
- At least two years’ experience in a similar or comparable role, preferably in a government/public service context.
- Driver’s License
- Ability and willingness to travel and work across locations within metropolitan and regional Victoria.
Desirable
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant or related field.
