We are seeking a dedicated Grounds person/gardener to join the team at Primary Education Facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the college grounds, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. Hours are Monday to Friday 7.00am - 3.00pm. As part of the recruitment process you must indergo a Police Check and have a valid Working with Childrens Check (WWCC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and present all college grounds-including turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, and trees-in a safe and tidy condition.
- Create and sustain an optimal growing environment for soft landscaping, including gardens and lawns, while supporting broader turf management efforts.
- Oversee the maintenance of hardscapes, such as courts and paving.
- Mark formal and informal sports areas as needed.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of college events.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure gardening tools and equipment are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Report any faults or maintenance needs promptly.
- Carry out all tasks with a focus on safe work practices, minimizing disruption to students and staff.
- Organize regular servicing, testing, and repairs of horticultural tools and equipment.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or Business Manager.
Qualifications:
- Experience in grounds maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Must undergo a Police check and Working with Children's check (WWCC)
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
