QBuild is expanding! Join us for an exciting career opportunity as a temporary Director Procurement Governance to provide a high level of procurement and supplier management to QBuild. From 18 November 2024 – 3 February 2025.
QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About The Role
You will to be responsible for leading procurement and supplier management services, category management, strategic sourcing and procurement governance teams across QBuild to support the delivery of building related construction, maintenance and related services consistent with whole-of-Queensland government policy and initiatives.
Duties And Skills Involved
- Lead and provide governance to teams of procurement professionals across the state, ensuring seamless and coordinated procurement services such as supplier management, category management, strategic sourcing, and procurement governance for QBuild's delivery teams.
- Guide QBuild staff and contractors in the application and integration of the Queensland Government's procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy and best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the building industry and government sectors, fostering collaboration and promoting best practices in procurement, policy implementation, and value for money.
- Act as a representative of QBuild and the Department, establishing effective and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders across industry, community, and government sectors to ensure alignment with government policies.
- Lead efforts in driving innovation and continuous improvement in procurement processes, category management, strategic sourcing, and procurement governance, while ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Develop and lead strategic procurement initiatives, regularly reviewing business performance metrics and aligning operational outcomes with continuous improvement efforts. Provide strategic advice to senior management on procurement services, policy implementation, and business planning.
- Manage change initiatives within the procurement function, ensuring adherence to contractual, policy, and legislative principles. Build procurement capability within QBuild through peer reviews, communities of practice, and professional networking across state agencies and industry.
