The position of Foreman is a supervisory role within AARR. A Foreman must implement and initiate work activities that are passed on by the Production Manager or General Manager.
You must be appropriately skilled and trained in all aspects of asphalting and/or stabilizing and civil works so that the employee has the appropriate knowledge to work in a team, unsupervised or lead a team so the employee can be an asset to the Company. The Company requires the employee to be totally committed once a decision has been made to work for Accurate Asphalt & Road Repairs Pty Ltd.
Key Task and Accountabilities
Supervision
- Lead a small to medium crew in asphalting / stabilizing and/or civil construction works.
- To be able to take directions and implement instructions of supervisory staff and if that person is absent, be able to direct the crew independently.
- Assist in the planning and scope of works, coordination, and control of works each day.
- Ensure toolbox meetings are conducted each day.
- Responsible for supervision or assisting in supervision of the site crews.
- To thoroughly understand and implement quality control measures according to Quality Policy & Procedure.
- Ensure compliance to WHS Policy and Procedure including Drug, Alcohol and Smoking policies whilst supervising on job sites or company premises.
- Ensure compliance to Environmental Policy & Procedure.
- Work within SWMS, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and any other required standards issued.
- Recording of crew members KPIs - daily.
- Train and mentor crew members in new skills etc.
- Assist in keeping staff morale positive at all times.
- Monitor and mitigate any negative feedback and/or interactions involving customers.
- Other leadership and workplace duties as assigned or asked.
Jobsite Requirements
- Work with Estimator to determine the specification and calculations of job
- Contact Suppliers in relation to product and delivery sequence.
- Mark out Job to specification required.
- Monitor materials, equipment and suppliers throughout works to ensure project specification are met.
- Determine daily the next day requirement of product / plant communicate to office staff.
- Off hire of suppliers plant when finished or stand down when not in use communicate to office staff.
- Ensure timely and transparent communication with Management on a daily basis.
- Consult with the Production Manager or General Manager before making any major decision which may impact on results /outputs / safety or the bottom line.
- Work collaboratively with fellow team members including sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Keep records & control timesheets, incidences, risk assessment & all associated daily paperwork.
