UGL's Transport business are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our eMobility/Transport Infrastructure and Assets team based in North Sydney. The role of Project Manager is to deliver contractually required projects and outcomes, whilst maintaining or improving planned operational revenue, gross margin, and cash flow expectations as agreed and documented at contract award, and operating within the limits of delegated responsibility, accountability, and authority. The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project to electrify bus and truck depots and hubs as part of Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW), Department of Transport and Planning Victoria and Queensland Transport and Main Roads (TMR) programmes to transition to Zero Emissions Buses (ZEBs), and businesses electrifying road freight transport including directing the project's resources; developing the project plan; managing contractor(s) performance; liaising with the clients; and ensuring that the Project is completed on time, within budget, and with acceptable quality. Future projects will include other electric truck depots, transport charging hubs, marine charging and other sustainable mobility projects. Responsibilities: • Define performance expectations for employees and contractors and coach performance against these standards • Actively promote safety awareness and safe work practices and compliance with safety management plans • Actively promote environmentally responsible work practices and compliance with environmental plans • Build effective internal and external relationships to ensure open and honest communications are maintained and any problems/concerns are resolved in a timely manner to mitigate impact to project performance. • Ensure all project activities undertaken are designed, planned, and carried out in accordance with relevant safety systems and comply with State and Federal regulations. • Operate within UGL Project Management framework and its associated processes and procedures across all areas of the assigned project(s) to ensure project key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved. • Establish and implement clearly defined budget controls • Review Schedule of Works and Bill of Quantities for all works • Establish Work Breakdown Structures and ensure they are implemented • Ensure relevant personnel are aware of obligations under the contract and that the change management process is clearly understood • Update resource forecasts (people, equipment, materials,) as required • Manage the engagement and performance of external contractor and suppliers and monitor the quality and standard of services delivered by external contractors, as required • Actively participate in on-boarding of all personnel involved with the project • Provide monthly status report to relevant stakeholders • Actively review productivity performance, monitor achieved norms and progress, and ensure continuous improvement initiatives are implemented • Ensure that all invoices are reviewed and submitted in a timely manner • Review purchase agreements and sub-contracts for all suppliers/sub-contractors. • Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements. • Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as direction by the reporting manager. Qualifications and Education Requirements: • Technical trade or tertiary qualification in engineering. • Project Management qualification preferably AIPM Diploma level or above. • AIPM certified Practicing Project Manager (CPSPM), PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or demonstrated equivalent experience. • Sound understanding of PMBoK, Prince2, Agile, or other appropriate project management methodology. • Experience in MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling software. • A minimum of 5 years’ demonstrable experience in, and sound understanding of, project management in a multi-disciplined operational, assets development and maintenance or engineering environment. • Sound knowledge of transport industry and best-practice standards and their relevance to the project.
