PURPOSE
Undertake roles across the various disciplines or centres of excellence within BCRC in order to develop a strong understanding of the breadth of the business, its core capabilities and the various technologies used to fulfill our many different assignments for key clients.
This will include exposure to:
• Specialist non-destructive testing to assess condition and strength of structures;
• On-site inspection and data collection, including materials sampling (concrete, steel, masonry, timber, etc.);
• Modelling degradation of structures and service life prediction through assessing:
• Concrete carbonation rate prediction
• Concrete chloride diffusion prediction; and
• Corrosion risk, corrosion rate assessment and corrosion mitigation
• Risk of thermally induced cracking in large concrete members;
• Providing remedial options for deteriorated structures.
• Providing durability plans for design teams for new and refurbished structures,
• Specifying, managing and monitoring corrosion protection
The Graduate Engineer will work under daily guidance and supervision from more experienced engineers. They will work as part of a larger team, working with others (both within and external to BCRC) to deliver the right solutions to clients.

Technical
· Study and become aware of key industry and subject matter areas including current Australian Standards and industry guidelines.
· Engage in graduate and industry information and development opportunities.
· Under guidance actively develop competence with mainstream technologies and software as used by BCRC.
· Develop an understanding of key client organisations and their needs.
· Become knowledgeable of the key disciplines in which BCRC are expert.
· Seek opportunities to assist with site inspections and report documenting.
· Assist with finding continuous performance improvement opportunities throughout BCRC.
· Be responsible for developing personal technical knowledge through maintaining mentoring relationships with senior BCRC staff.
· Study and stay informed on key industry and subject matter areas, and other general interest areas for the company or to its clients.
Business Development
· Build an understanding of business development processes as applicable to BCRC.
· Participate and actively engage in graduate information and development opportunities.
· Develop an understanding of BCRC’s industry sectors, clients, potential clients and how to build client relationships.
· Identify any potential opportunities to “cross-sell” other areas of the business.
· Identify and report potential leads to the State and/or General Manager
Company Culture

· Develop, foster and maintain good working relationships with other BCRC team members including the GM, State managers, BCRC state and national engineers, marketing, admin, and the BCRC partners and directors.
Administration
· Maintain accurate client files and reports to have complete and up to date client and business information, which can be shared with the wider BCRC organisation.
· Develop a strong knowledge of all company policies and procedures. Comply with all company policies and procedures and seek immediate guidance if any policies or procedures are not understood.
· Complete all administrative paperwork in a timely manner, including utilising all internal systems.
· Submit all timesheets on a weekly basis (aim for 75% of time to be chargeable).
· Meet and exceed assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
0 to 3 years post-graduate experience in a relevant role.
