This role will be based in our Liverpool plant and reports to the process engineering manager
What you will do:
The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the delivering of the production plan for their particular Factory/Factories in a safe, right first time and efficient manner. The role is responsible for ensuring Machines are running to their specified specs, SOPs are updated and best practice and being followed by Operators. This role is main first point of contact for trouble shooting and problem solving breakdowns, bottlenecks and introducing process improvements.
- Actively lead the site’s ‘Safety Starts with me’ practice, ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards and rules, ensuring injuries, incidents, hazards and illnesses are reported and acted on immediately to create a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace.
- Ensure that product manufactured meet quality specifications, undertake necessary investigations for quality issues, and partner with Quality Team to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Deliver the sites operational HSEQ agenda/strategic activities.
- Actively lead on expectations of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures to manage Key targets as well as RTW Injury Management
- Product Quality and root cause investigations and corrective actions (No. of Customer Product/service Complaints, NCA's, SQC development and conformance)
- Support cost of quality project initiatives
- Actively participates in Prysmian Group and site based sustainability initiatives in line with UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at improving the global standards across waste, footprint and human rights
- Ensuring machines are running to correct parameters

- Develop and Implement housekeeping standards using the "6S" Philosophy
- Recommend, manage and implement continuous improvement initiatives, innovation, tactics and new projects in all areas of manufacturing.
- Responsible for execution and adherence of the production plan, including supplying product to the warehouse and stock reconciliation and checking and confirm production hourly output
- Engage team members in learning and problem-solving activities to meet KPIs
- Ensure that the production processes are controlled so that all standards are maintained eg quality and cable safety, overtime etc, and to contribute to their ongoing improvement through SDCA (Standardise, Do, Check, Act).
- Implement corrective actions to prevent substandard/abnormal product and processes and reinforce continuous improvement.
- Control fixed costs and variable losses (material and labour).
- Motivate and manage level 1 team including shift handovers, performance appraisals, discipline, administration, training, IR climate, absenteeism etc.
- Complete administration tasks including labour management, SAP back flushing, downtime reconciliation, HSEQ reporting etc.
- Ensure daily routine maintenance is carried out in responsible area (CIL, inspection & preparation and recording)
- Support the implementation of new products.
- Implement improvement activity from a daily management system standpoint, including identifying abnormalities and waste, bottle neck issues, and establishing standardised work and control systems.
- Ensure the effective roll-out and ongoing management of Operational Excellence.
- Conduct cost reduction activities linking to Operational Excellence targets.
What you will need:
- Strong operational, team management, problem solving, and customer focused skills
- Well-honed manufacturing process knowledge, stakeholder management, including partnering, influencing, facilitation, communication and computer skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team; lives the company values and leads for purpose. Leadership & management.

- Ability to cope and work with disruption and adapt to changing priorities.
- excellent general engineering problem-solving skills and some experience in equipment maintenance
- 2+ years in Process Engineering
- Demonstrated record of achieving results in process improvement
- Intimate knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, health and safety requirements, auditing requirements and relevant legislation.
- Continuous improvement Methodologies
- training in Continuous Improvement Systems (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
- Front line qualifications equivalent to Degree Level in Management, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable
- Training in Safety hazard and risk identification, reporting and management
