THE PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE:
As the Recycling & Waste Management Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in our site materials and dust management processes. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around the selection, evaluation, and optimisation of materials used in our products and manufacturing processes. We aim to incorporate recovery, recycling and reuse of our materials throughout our operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Finishing, Production, Maintenance, and quality assurance, to ensure the quality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of our materials.

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE ARE:
- Raw Materials Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of potential raw materials, considering factors such as cost, quality, availability, and environmental impact.
- Testing and Analysis: Perform various tests and analysis on dust, sludge and other materials to evaluate their physical, chemical, and mechanical properties. Interpret results and provide recommendations for improvement or selection.
- Quality Control: Monitor and report on material quality deviations, and work with key stakeholders to resolve issues. Follow quality control procedures.
- Supplier Management: Collaborate with Production and Finishing Line Managers to establish and maintain strong relationships.
- Cost Optimisation: Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining or improving the quality of sludge and other products.
- Sustainability: Effectively monitor dust collectors, dust storage tanks and sludge transfer systems. Process audits to be followed to reliably maintain the sludge system and consume sludge into the product.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all sludge and other products, complies with relevant company regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of material specifications, test results, and supplier information. Generate reports and documentation as needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Quality Department to support product quality and compliance. Collaborate with production teams to address any sludge-related issues affecting manufacturing processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the sludge and manufacturing processes.
- Forklift Driving: move dust bins once full and replace with new ones.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THESE:
1. SKILLS
- Proven experience in Raw materials, particularly in sludge selection and evaluation.
- Strong knowledge of material testing techniques and analytical tools.
- Familiar with quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental regulations.
Proficiency in data analysis software and tools.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
2. KNOWLEDGE
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering approved by Engineers Australia preferred
- Active Forklift License
3. EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Operator capacity in an industrial/manufacturing background preferred
- Quality control and assurance background is highly regarded
