About The OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Field Engineer to join the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Program business based in Osborne, SA. The DCE program will provide a number of capability upgrades to the existing Hobart Class guided missile destroyers (DDG). Based at our Osborne Shipyard in SA.

As the
Senior Electrical Field Engineer, you
will support the Electrical lead in engaging engineering & production teams, providing professional engineering, technical and operational support that is accurate, safe, on-time and on-budget to support project, task and bid activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as the focal point for production issues, enabling speedy resolution for trades, capture of changes in engineering documentation and approval of any design changes.
- Providing solutions and facilitation timely solutions as the central engineering technical liaison team between engineering design & production
- Undertake analysis to identify root cause problems and provide alternate solutions that meet both design and production requirements
- Design and develop solutions, resolve engineering issues and problems for a range of situations relating to specialist knowledge area(s)
- Apply a broad depth and breadth of expertise relating to the electrical engineering domain to complex engineering problems, challenges issues and problems associated with the area
- Measure and monitor response times for capture and rectification of your production issues to ensure production delivery needs are met effectively
- Provide production expertise during design and development activities to the project team
- Accountable and responsible for engineering support to installation or production teams to ensure the correct installation, assembly, testing and commissioning of designs or changes within required project budgets and schedules.
- Interpret design documentation and drawings where necessary for production staff
About YOU
- Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multi task simultaneously within a production environment
- Demonstrated superior communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers at all levels
- Demonstrated professional integrity, advanced level of technical knowledge, objectivity, acceptance of responsibility, maturity of judgement
- Have an engineering degree in a relevant discipline
- Experience in developing equipment designs, participation in design reviews, undertaking typical design analyses and implementation of solutions, its integration, validation and qualification testing
- Desire to seek and share good practice and knowledge locally to continuously improve own practices whilst improving safety on the worksite
- Self-motivated and proactive to support working autonomously diagnosing production issues, developing solutions and ensuring issues are driven to closure
- Ability to gain and maintain a Defence Clearance and eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
