About the role
Provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice on continuous improvement practices across to Fixed Plant Maintenance. Includes developing, coaching and mentoring other professionals and supporting the decision-making processes of leadership.

Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices.

Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties.

Lead, coach and develop a team of Fixed Plant Maintenance Engineering personnel.

Organise and manage the execution of Fixed Plant Maintenance Engineering work performed.

Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including statutory obligations.

Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to the Fixed Plant Maintenance teams.

Support the engineering team to provide technical support and engineering to maintenance teams for a variety of fixed plant assets, including root cause, equipment failure and loss analysis.

Develop and maintain Asset Management standards
What you’ll bring
-
Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, Regulations, Acts and Codes of Practice.

5 years plus experience as an electrical engineer in fixed plant operations with a high degree of familiarity with fixed plant high voltage equipment including motors, variable speed drives, switchgear, power control, PLCs, SCADA and electrical instrumentation.

Demonstrated understanding of process control systems.

Experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives / projects.

Experience in defect elimination processes and root cause analysis.

Demonstrate understanding of budget preparation, variance analysis, cost forecasting and cost drivers.

Experience in SAP and Power Bi will be beneficial.

Tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's License (Manual)
