Building a better Bunbury
We're seeking skilled and competent Plant Operators to join our experienced Construction and Maintenance team. Your safety and development are priorities at the City, with a strong focus on daily planning, safety discussions, and hands-on experience in road and drainage maintenance.

Detailed responsibilities include:
- Road Construction and Maintenance: Operate a variety of construction equipment, including excavators, front end loaders, graders and rollers. You'll also manage water trucks to control moisture content during road construction and perform other related tasks using a single-axle truck.
- Excavation and Earthmoving: Competently operate machinery such as skid steer loaders, excavators and graders for various construction and maintenance tasks. You'll also be responsible for working to levels in both road construction and drainage works.
- Concrete Works: Engage in the setup, operation, and finishing of concrete paths and other structures. This includes operating concrete cutting machines, setting up formwork, and ensuring high-quality finishes on all concrete surfaces.
- Drainage Systems: Prepare and lay drainage pipes, construct stormwater structures like side entry pits, and operate laser levels for precise installations.
What you bring to the role:
- Extensive experience in the construction and maintenance of roads, drainage, and paths.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining a range of heavy plant and machinery, including excavators, graders, bobcats, rollers, and water trucks.
- Ability to read plans and work to levels for civil construction tasks.
- Possession of a White Card and a valid HR (Heavy Rigid) driver's licence (or commitment to obtain within 6 months).
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- A commitment to workplace safety and compliance with Work Health and Safety standards.
Desirable:
- Advanced concreting skills and the ability to work independently from plans and drawings.
- Completion of Basic Traffic Management and/or Traffic Control qualifications.
What we offer you
In return for your hard work, you'll receive a competitive Level 3 salary of $74,529 (excluding superannuation).
