About the role
Join us and be part of the large Maintenance team who work throughout the entire road network at sites across the region.
The Plant Operator is responsible for operating a range of plant and equipment associated with the maintenance of roads, transport and drainage assets connected to the functioning of Upper Lachlan Council's infrastructure network.
The position is responsible for working autonomously and in a team to deliver high quality maintenance of Council infrastructure.
Some duties include:
- Undertake plant operation and/or labouring tasks associated with maintenance and construction of roads, transport and drainage infrastructure including but not limited to, earthworks, pipe laying, bitumen, concrete structure preparation, drainage and vegetation work.
- Undertake works autonomously or as part of a work group.
- Demonstrate competency in the operation of dynamic load shifting plant and equipment including, but not limited to, Backhoe, Excavator and Roller.
- Ensure daily maintenance and pre-start checks of assigned plant are completed.
- Ensure controls are in place to manage vehicular and pedestrian traffic on and around the work site.
Who are we looking for?
- You are an experienced operator of plant or a Labourer who wants to learn and expand their skills.
- You are physically fit
- You hold a WHS General Construction Induction (White) card.
- You hold a Drivers Licence
- You have experience in civil construction or plant operation (highly desirable)
