The Opportunity
The Document Controller is responsible for assisting in the coordination and delivery of Project Configuration Management (CM) activities in accordance with the CM Plan. The Document Controller will assist the Configuration Manager/Lead with the conduct of project activities to meet both project and Austal CM goals. Effective CM activity on this Project will support customer acceptance of each vessel and enable successful handover to sustainment activities.
What’s Involved
- Assist in coordinating and delivering project Configuration Management (CM) activities, ensuring completion and close-out in accordance with plans and schedules.
- Ensure accurate capture and management of configuration information and changes within Teamcenter Unified.
- Assist in the coordination and conduct of Configuration Audits, including regular reporting of CM status.
- Act on behalf of the CM lead in their absence, supporting the coordination, maintenance, and assessment of CM impacts for the project Engineering Change Process.
- Adhere to and maintain processes required for consistent delivery of outputs, contributing to the continual improvement of established processes.
- Facilitate teamwork and integration between internal and external parties, ensuring effective collaboration across project activities and disciplines (e.g., Design to Production, Electrical to Mechanical)
You’ll need
Essential
- Certificate IV or higher level in technical discipline
- Configuration Management qualifications/training.
- Experience in or significant exposure to Configuration Planning, Identification, Control, Auditing and Reporting.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand technical documents, particularly in a Marine environment.
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
Desirable
- Relevant maritime degree or trade qualification preferred.
- Experience on Defence contracts is desired but not required.

Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, we prefer applicants be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
