The Role:
As the HSE Manager, based at our facility located in Wurruk, Victoria, you shall play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members and stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the overall Health, Safety, and Environment management plans, while fostering a positive HSE culture throughout the company.

Job Description:
· Lead and manage the implementation of the Companies Health, Safety, and Environment Management Plan, HSE Initiatives and Personnel.
· Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory, corporate, and site requirements.
· Collaborate with the Company and Corporate Management to develop and maintain a positive HSE culture across all locations.
· Coordinate and oversee the activities of Well Site and Base Safety resources.
· Liaise with Clients, Contractors, Subcontractors, and Regulatory Bodies as required.
- Foster collaborative relationships with workforce, stakeholders, contractors, and regulators.
· Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance through proactive measures and initiatives.
· Incorporates HSE standards directed by regulatory agencies into policies, plans, and programs to meet compliance requirements and prevent incidents.
· With general autonomy, accountable for the performance and results of HSE disciplines or functions
· Act as the ‘Principal HSE Contact’ within SESA, and with Clients and Regulatory Bodies and ensure comprehensive understanding of associated responsibilities.
- Develop and implement Company HSE policy and procedures.
· Manage the delivery of HSE objectives by providing visible leadership.
- Guide the development of HSE Strategy and is responsible for Company processes and procedures.
- Collaborate on the execution of ‘Product Service Line’ goals to achieve business objectives.
- Coach all levels of employees to elicit continuous HSE improvement.
- Prepare and review HSE Forms, Reports, Plans, and Permits.
- Prepare Statistical Reports for internal and external ‘customers’.
- Analyse Statistical, behaviour-based data to develop Company ‘focus plans’.
- Administer Company Drug and Alcohol Program.
- Oversee and ensure Company / Corporate Regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate HSE requirements / initiatives.
- Complete Customer / Client HSE questionnaires
- Drive HSE efforts regarding customer, 3rd Party and Regulatory Audits.
- Conduct Facility Audits.
- Manage / Assign / Schedule Facility, Contractor, & Vendor HSE Audits.
- Travel to Offshore / Onshore worksites for Incident Investigation / Safety Audits / Personnel - Operational evaluations.
- Perform other duties as required by Company Management.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience as a HSE professional, preferably working within the Hydrocarbon Industry, including experience with Regional Safety Regulatory knowledge & certifications (i.e. OSHA / Safe Work Australia), Incident Investigation Training, and Regional Industry certification (i.e. PEC or IMIST).
- HSE qualification and relevant industry experience in a Hydrocarbon / HSE field; or an appropriate qualification with relevant industry and high-risk environment experience.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities that come with being the ‘Principal HSE Contact’.
- Collaborative approach with demonstrated capacity to influence positive outcomes with Team Members, Stakeholders, Contractors, and Regulators.
- Demonstrated capacity to work both autonomously and within the team environment; use initiative; solve problems through analytical thinking; & make decisions within an intense construction environment.
- Strong working knowledge of country, regional, federal, state and local regulations, to include when applicable, but not limited to OSHA, EPA, Safe Work Australia, LADEQ, TCEQ, DOT, FMCSA, NRC, LUS, SEMS, and BOEMRE, and IMIST
- Ability to raise the “safety bar” by designing new programs and processes that achieve desired level of HSE improvement.
- Ability to change the HSE culture through development and implementation of process, strong coaching skills, and employee management skills.
- Ability to interface with Company clients, HSE professionals and client program/contract managers in defining and assessing the effectiveness of HSE programs.
- Know and understand SESA’s Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems & Procedures Manuals while also complying with all HSE requirements.
- Extensive Knowledge in Incident Management, Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis, Risk Management and Loss Control.
- Formal investigation training is advantageous.
- Experience in maintaining 3rd Party accredited HSEQ systems.
- Knowledge of current practices and technology used in the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to effectively present information to management, clients, Regulator, 3rd Party.
- Preferably in possession of a current ‘BOSIET’ Certification and ‘MSIC’ Clearance
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Flexibility to travel as required.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Teams
