Responsibilities
ABOUT THE ROLE
Weatherford is currently seeking for a full time permanent TRS TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in Malaga, Western Australia. The TRS Technical Specialist is crucial to the success of the product line within the Asia Geozone. The role is responsible for providing technical support to planned and ongoing TRS operational activity as well as training and mentoring of maintenance and field technicians.
The role will report directly to the TRS Technical Manager and work closely with each Geozone Operations Manager and Project Managers/Coordinators to support critical and prioritized maintenance and operational requirements across the entire range of TRS technology available.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
- Regular attendance and participation in safety and toolbox meetings
- Ensure third party compliance to Weatherford HSE procedures whilst on all Weatherford premises
- Actively promote a positive Health, Safety and Environmental culture whilst on all Weatherford or client premises.
People Management
- Assist in the coaching and mentoring of equipment and technology competence, best practises, policies and procedures to the TRS Geozone maintenance and field personnel.
Core Tasks but not limited to such
- Assist the local operational teams during communications with clients and vendors regarding equipment technology and integration
- Assist in the development and presentation of detailed sales and technical presentations on TRS technology to internal and external parties
- Attend the Design of Service meetings within the Geozone to review and discuss the proposed equipment package and strategy
- Understand the current and planned TRS operational requirements by regular communication with the TRS Technical Manager and Operations Managers
- Assist in the development of maintenance technician knowledge and competence on all applicable TRS technology utilised within the specific location
- Responsible to ensure rig surveys are completed for all field locations where TRS activity is planned. If rig surveys cannot be completed, information should be gained from the rig contractor directly and/or historic TRS activity
- Responsible for the integration of TRS equipment to rig start up projects where the rig is new to the location or a delay in operations of over 6 months has occurred.
- Responsible for any new TRS technology being introduced to the market which includes training content availability, training delivery to maintenance and field technicians as well as providing support during field integration and execution
- Conduct risk assessments in conjunction with filed location requirements for all new technology integration
- Provide detailed reporting following field activity support to include equipment integration, personnel competence and lessons learned/best practise for future operations
- Provide field support for all critical and prioritized operational activity specifically with existing and new TRS equipment technology
- Assist in developing and providing practical and theoretical training courses to TRS personnel in all Geozone locations
- Provide assistance when required with all Corrective and Preventative Action Reports (CPAR) across the Geozone where equipment issues have been identified.
- Required to travel to Asia Geozone locations to support maintenance and field activity.
- Available for on call support for Asia Geozone operations to assist local teams with operational difficulties.
Qualifications
Essential
- University Degree/Diploma and 4-6 years relevant experience or Masters/Graduate Degree and 2-4 years relevant experience or Doctorate/Post Graduate Degree and 0-2 years relevant experience or QBE: Qualified by Experience with Trade Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years direct WFD Tubular Running Services experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Tubular Running Services product line and technologies including hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and lead project planning providing assistance in the maintenance and field execution.
- Provides technical assistance to colleagues with less knowledge and experience with the ability to solve complex TRS technical issues
- Has knowledge of TRS best practices and is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate Weatherford in the TRS market
Advantageous
- Program Logic Control (PLC) knowledge and maintenance experience
- Proficient with AutoCad and Creo drawing programs
- 10 years related experience of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- 10 years Tubular Running Services experience
MOBILISATION REQUIREMENTS
- Based in Malaga, Western Australia
- 8am - 4:30pm
- Involves 25% Travel (Domestic and International - Asia, visiting the rig when required)
