Systems Engineer
Babcock Australasia is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team, working on the Enhanced Defence High-Frequency Communications System and other advanced initiatives.
Your Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of an integrated product team dedicated to providing comprehensive engineering services to support the design, delivery, and sustainment of Defence communications systems across Australia and New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Systems Engineering: Engage in all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including product design, system analysis, acceptance testing, and certification for both hardware and software.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation and drawings within our formal engineering management system.
- System Integration & Testing: Support the integration and testing of hardware, software, and communications systems at operational sites across Australasia.
- Collaboration & Delivery: Work closely with project teams to meet timelines and quality standards, ensuring exceptional results.
- Safety & Compliance: Champion Babcock’s commitment to a safe working environment and contribute to a zero-incident safety culture.
About You:
- Qualifications & Memberships:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering accredited by the Washington Accord, or qualifications recognized for Professional Engineer Membership eligibility.
- Member of Engineers Australia (preferably Chartered) with a commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years in Defence systems engineering, with preferred experience in RF, HF, or communications systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effective engagement with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Defence Capability Life Cycle processes and excellent computer skills.
Essential Compliance Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Eligibility for an Australian Defence Security Clearance (AGSVA NV1).
- Access: No restrictions to For Official Use Only (FOUO) materials or ITAR/EAR-controlled content.
