DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:

OROSI is a visionary property investment, development and construction company, operating primarily in the residential and mixed use spaces and commercial projects and hence we need Bricklayer to perform the following duties:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Interpret construction drawings and blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.

2. Determine the layout and design of structures based on plans.

3. Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and hazards.

4. Set up scaffolding and other temporary structures.

5. Mix mortar, cement, and other materials to create a strong binding agent.

6. Ensure the proper consistency of the mixture.

7. Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units in horizontal rows (courses).

8. Use a trowel to spread mortar between joints and ensure proper alignment.

9. Cut bricks to size using hammers, chisels, or power tools when necessary.

10. Check vertical and horizontal alignment using levels and plumb lines.

11. Make adjustments to bricks or blocks to ensure stability and precision.

12. Repair or replace defective bricks or blocks.

13. Smooth and finish surfaces using tools such as trowels and pointing tools.

14. Clean excess mortar and ensure neat and tidy joints.

15. Apply sealants or protective coatings as required.

16. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

17. Ensure the safety of themselves and other workers on the site.

18. Work closely with other construction professionals, including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, to ensure coordination and smooth project progress.

19. Communicate effectively with supervisors and project managers

20. Inspect work for quality and adherence to specifications.

21. Identify and address any issues or defects promptly.

22. Perform maintenance and repair work on existing structures.

23. Address issues such as cracks, structural damage, and water infiltration.

24. Calculate the quantity of materials needed for a project.

25. Estimate costs and time required for completing tasks.

Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, education and experience:

Education : Certificate III or Certificate IV or Diploma

Australian Experience : At least 3 + years of Australian Experience OR

Overseas Experience : At least 3+ years of Overseas Experience

Specialist : Bricklayer

Work Rights : Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holder

Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents will be preferred. Other applicants with full work rights can apply only if they meet the above criteria.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
